Tenements and common repairs
Heat pumps in tenements are difficult rather than impossible: the outdoor unit needs a location, the noise assessment has to work for the neighbour beneath the window, and in a conservation area the visual impact matters. Communal ground or a rear drying green is common property and cannot be used without the other owners' agreement.
Pipework crossing a common close or a shared riser is another consent question. Raise it with the factor early rather than after the deposit is paid.
