Privacy notice
Plain English: what we do with the details you give us, how long we keep them, and how to get them removed.

What we collect
When you request a valuation we collect your name, email address, phone number, the property postcode and — if you give it — the full address, plus the answers you select about property type, bedrooms, condition and selling timescale.
We also record the page you arrived from and basic campaign parameters so we know which marketing is working. We do not collect special category data.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your details to prepare and deliver the valuation you asked for and to arrange an appointment. Our lawful basis is your consent, recorded at the point of submission.
Asking for a valuation does not opt you into anything else. Partner introductions, email updates and text messages are each a separate tick box, and each one can be withdrawn on its own at any time.
The wording you agree to
Enquiry contact (consent version 2026-08-19-v2, privacy policy 2026-08-19-v2): "I agree that Lothian Property, operated by Maybury Scotland Limited, may contact me regarding this property enquiry."
Partner introduction: "I agree that Maybury Scotland Limited may pass my enquiry to no more than 3 businesses from these named categories — Law Society of Scotland registered estate agents or solicitor estate agents, conveyancing solicitors, RICS chartered surveyors, FCA-authorised mortgage advisers, quick-sale buyers where I have asked about one, and any trades I have selected — so they can contact me directly. Lothian Property will tell me the name of each business before it makes contact, and I can withdraw this at any time."
Email marketing: "Email me useful property selling advice, market updates and relevant offers."
Text message marketing: "Send me useful property updates and relevant offers by text message."
Emails we send you
The emails we send about your enquiry include a small invisible image and links that pass through our own website before forwarding you on. This tells us whether the email was opened and which links you followed, so we can follow up properly and improve what we send.
This measurement is tied to your enquiry record, is never shared with advertisers, and is deleted on the same schedule as the rest of your enquiry. Blocking images in your email app stops open measurement, and you can ask us to stop it entirely at any time.
Who sees it
By default, only the advisers at Lothian Property who handle your enquiry, and the hosting and database providers that run this website on our behalf. We never sell your details and never pass them to lead brokers or list resellers.
If — and only if — you tick the partner introduction box, we pass your enquiry to no more than 3 businesses from the categories listed below, and we tell you the name of each business before it contacts you.
Estate agents and solicitor estate agents in your area: Firms registered with the Law Society of Scotland or trading as ESPC member agents, who would market the property.
Conveyancing solicitors: Regulated by the Law Society of Scotland, who would handle missives and settlement.
Chartered surveyors: Registered with RICS, who would produce the Home Report or a defect report.
Mortgage and financial advisers: Authorised by the FCA and listed on the Financial Services Register.
Quick-sale and cash buyers: Only where you have asked about a quick sale. They buy directly; they never act as your agent.
Trades and property businesses you asked us to quote: Only the categories you selected on a quote request, drawn from our published property services directory.
How long we keep it
Valuation enquiries are kept for 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted. Marketing consent is kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the details we hold, withdraw consent, or object to how we use them. Email hello@lothianproperty.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK supervisory authority.
